Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I am getting a little worried about player depth at certain positions. In contrast to Saints who were thin at 10 and have just recruited two good players to compete with Smith and Furbank, we seem to be heading in the other direction...and at present, we seem to be losing more backs than we are recr...

Saints have also recruited Makepeace Cubitt and Savala. They are looking good for options at 10

We might need to acquire a flyhalf before next season.

Apologies if I'm slow on this one.
Maybe Andy Goode is planning on a return…??

In retrospect I actually thought the first 68 or so minutes was pretty good bar poor red zone efficiency. Performance falling off seems to be a problem.

Re: Tigers v Bristol (H) - Premiership - Saturday 27th April 2024 - KO: 15-00

Can I just say Whiteley, rightly is getting some criticism on his performance. He is (not on here ) getting abuse to go with criticism. That is NOT acceptable. He got in a shouting match with someone post match and invited the person to come say it to his face. I'm sorry as gutted as we are in the ...

Re: Tigers v Bristol (H) - Premiership - Saturday 27th April 2024 - KO: 15-00

I don’t like to criticise our team/players but we lost a game where the opponents only scored their first points in the 69th minute and to kick possession away with 2ish minutes on the clock to opponents with a potent attack and a man advantage was just insanity. As I leave the stadium many Tigers f...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

So, the $64,000 question: how to give the youngsters (more) meaningful games? It's old hat but how about reforming the A league? North and South divisions to minimising travel etc costs. A teams to be a mixture of young talent, old timers returning to match fitness after injury, back up bench playe...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

How do we even know Edwards wanted to stay? Players are not commodities to be controlled, they're actual people who make their own decisions... It's not so unfathomable that we offered him 3rd choice and he decided to take his chances elsewhere. Bristol only have Randall, Marmion and Lennon on the ...

Edwards leaving & Whiteley staying is a really poor decision. Agreed next seasons player recruitment and retention decisions are unfathomable. How do we even know Edwards wanted to stay? Players are not commodities to be controlled, they're actual people who make their own decisions... It's not...

Re: Tigers v Newcastle (A) - Premiership - Friday 29th March 2024 - KO: 19-45

We've so far lost to the bottom but one team and struggled to beat the bottom team in consecutive weeks. The latter not having had a prem victory in quite some time. Despite all the pedigree of our players, something isn't quite right :smt017. We used to finish games strongly, now it seems we're des...

It's unpleasant getting bashed by a side second from bottom. Second half better be a significant improvement.
