Re: Tigers vs Gloucester (H) - Premiership - Friday 22nd March 2024 - KO:19.45

The old "we are doomed" brigade out in force as usual, no one seems to allow that we had a team who have not played together for weeks, some players who have not had any rugby at all for weeks ( Youngs, Stewart, Wiese) a late change at 10 and internationals who must be running on fumes (Co...

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby

The requirement for a 10,001 capacity stadium is the one criteria I feel lacks justification. It's reasonable to demand that promotes clubs have good quality playing facilities, space for the media and the right governance. But why mandate that they must make a huge infrastructure investment to cat...

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby

What would be sustainable is 6 regional pro teams supported by 2 leagues of semi pro teams, which Ealing would be ideal for, in a British mainland league. Unfortunately the wrinklies would never buy it So you now propose getting rid of the English clubs and having regional pro teams, so you want to...

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby

You are looking down from your ivory tower, those involved with the grass roots of the game admire what the Championship clubs are striving to do with no help from the people charged with growing the game. Clubs in the National leagues play the game for the love of it, no trophies to win, just a lo...

Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby

The commentary team highlighted the fact that though EalingTrailfinders have a small ground, they did not sell it out for their biggest game of the season, what a sad indictment of Rugby! That one rich person can draw together such a talented team with the sole resource of money makes me question th...

Re: Central contracts

The issue here is that Saracens have been given a helping hand to keep their stars, other clubs do not seem to get the same help. I can't imagine that Lewis Ludlum, after his showing in the world cup, would not be offered a central contract but now too late. Saracens have been operating with two mar...

The best game for Ben Youngs for several seasons, (maybe because the dead hand of dreary Eddie has been lifted at last) MOM IMHO. The scrum was down to a ref who does not understand it, teams have worked out that Hayes being tall cannot cope with last minute movement, Gloucester front row were ducki...

Re: Poms lose world whinger title!

It does make you smile when NZ complain about the ref, after all the innovations that the AB's have bought to the game like dummy runners, running blocking lines, forwards clearing miles beyond the ruck and a certain Mr Macaw using his cloak of invisibility and somehow always falling accidentally on...

Sorry, TV off, I can't stand any more, utter, utter rubbish, 1 to 15 or 23 no clue, no cohesion, no energy, it is a good job they only had 16 weeks to practice this, any more time pre-season, and they would have shipped 50 by half-time.

Well, perhaps they will take time in the interval to introduce themselves to their teammates, as obviously they only met up in the car park before the match.
What a shambles!

Re: Champions Cup Final

Leinster were diving off thier feet at the ruck all match it took a serious injury for the one eyed ref to notice, nothing new here then! So justice was done in the end but if the player had not been knocked out cold Payper woukld have just carried on until Leinster won. Well done La Rochele, they h...

Re: England squad

SB has boxed himself into a bind of his own choosing by naming Farrel as captain, he is a competent 10 but not an international center, he has no raport with the ref and his kicking has gone awry as well, so the only reason he is a shoe in is because he is captain. Borthwick should bite the bullet a...

Re: Tigers v Saints (H) - Saturday 28th January 2023 - KO 14:00

It is the new RFU tackle height rule, round the ankles or get sent off! Seriously, there are some posters with a twisted view of the game, if you let the leg go the tackled player is free to carry on, how many times do we hear "not held" from the ref, so you hold on and wait for support to...

Re: Premiership Rugby

Essentially the TMO is always going to be flawed as they can never see everything. The host broadcast shouldn't affect what is seen or not seen. Essentially there's 3 ways to standardise this. 1. remove the TMO, back to onfield 2. No audio from the host broadcast, that does still leave the host bro...

Re: Worcester’s woes

I wonder if this is common practice for the players to be paid by an entity other than the club itself? Premier Rugby and the RFU have dropped the ball, on this and the Wasps situation, splitting the operation into separate entities, one owning the team, one the ground another the training faciliti...
