Re: Tigers vs Gloucester (H) - Premiership - Friday 22nd March 2024 - KO:19.45
TBF RWC rugby isn't the same as prem, and being wing for Tonga against Ireland is different from being on the wing for us v Gloucester That being said i'm not sure why we would move our best 12 currently on form. He might not have the passing that people want for a 12 but Pollard and Kelly either si...

Just feel that even if Hatherall / Liebenberg are at 8 you’re going to want Chessum at 6 to beef out the pack with another carrying option. Beets might be a great signing - but would’ve rather he take up the slot of say Rogerson / Cracknell and we’d actually tried to replace Wiese with an internati...

Has Manz played a decent bit of championship now? How games has he played this season? It's tough cause he clearly has promise but he needs a run off fitness to prove it Manz has played a bit of Championship rugby this year, but it's now his 5th season in the Senior Academy, guys like Carnduff play...

With a development squad stacked with young lock options, three international locks and then a solid clubman in Wells if we are signing another lock then need to show a real point of difference. We don't need just a lock, a 20+ stone monster who won't last the full 80 mins but will provide impact f...

I think something like would be good 1. Smith, Cronin, Whitcombe, Van Der Filer, Miell, Kingsley-Mellowes 2. Montoya, Dolly, Clare, FTT, Vanes, Clarke, 3. Cole, Heyes, Hurd, Hoyt, Crane, Mountford, Maka 4. Martin, N/A, Wells, Thomas, 5. Chessum, Henderson, Chessum, 6. Hanro, Carnduff, Manz, William...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)
Surely if N.Smith signs then we don’t need any more props. 1. Smith, Cronin, Whitcombe 3. Cole, Hurd, Heyes Then we’ve still got Richardson and Hoyt. If Eloff comes in too then maybe McKellar doesn’t rate Whitcombe as much as some posters on here. Speaking of Sale type players, Hatherell can cover ...

Actually disagree about TH and our locks, mainly down to two Scots. Hurd I think is massively underrated and for me is better in the scrum that Heyes. Also think he’s got the potential to be our first choice TH in the future and needs minutes on the pitch. Agree with comments about Wells. But Hende...

On paper it made sense as a signing IMO.
Just not needed past this one I feel.

Re: Tigers v Gloucester - Premiership Cup Final - Friday 15th March 2024 - KO:7-45pm
I thought the first half tactics was pretty spot on. Whiteley scores that run in and we win the game imo. The losing our heads and not changing tactics when down to 13 men cost us. It was poor managing that. Rogerson did what was asked of him in the 1st half, pulled a big defensive shift. But Ilione...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)
My hope is something like N.Smith for Van Wyk Number 8 for Wiese Perese for Scott I still feel we need another lock/back rower Wells, Carter, Rogerson, Cracknell for me is too many players of the same level. I'm going to get ripped here I feel but Wells is too big a drop off from Martin and Chessum ...

Re: Tigers vs Gloucester (H) - Premiership - Friday 22nd March 2024 - KO:19.45
Kata hasn't played 13, Kelly has started to look good at 13 outside of Kata. I should stick with that combo Cokanasiga has had a good cameo's at 12 and clearly more a 12 than 13. But I wouldn't pair him with someone who hasn't played at 13 at all. I feel if Cokanasiga starts at 12 he will need Scott...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)
Nicky smith was going toe to toe against Dan Cole in the home fixture last year I thought. I would agree that he's a step up on both Cronin and Van Wyk I feel Nicky Smith in terms of scrums would be a top 5 LH in the league, also unlike some has proven longevity and won't be away in internationals. ...

Fissler's sources with Tigers have changed but not in the way you think. Steve and the club used to take prospective players or coaches to the Costa Coffee in Oadby for a debrief after they had visited Oval Park. Only problem with that is there used to be someone working at the Costa who knew their...
