Re: the Champions Cup

"Instead of being totally guaranteed for each of the six years, close scrutiny of the union’s amendments to a document made it clear the money could conceivably be clawed back through other means and only be paid if the union felt they could afford it ". http://waleseye.com/post/9199357833...

Re: the Champions Cup

Perhaps now everyone can see the WRU for the destructive force they have always been :smt013 This guy is the root of the problem...Roger Lewis, the CEO of the WRU. The WRU board are terrified of him even though he's just an employee of theirs. http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtub...

Re: the Champions Cup

Unfortunately for RRW, the WRU has a similarly cosy relationship with the Welsh media based in Cardiff. http://tier2rugby.blogspot.co.uk/2014/07/the-self-righteous-act-of-irfu-and.html?m=1 I take it that there is still no Welsh Participation Agreement? :smt017 Statement just released by RRW.....The...

Re: the Champions Cup

RRW are signed up to the Pro12. They don't have an agreement in place with the WRU about player release for internationals, but frankly who cares about that. It's a little more complicated than that. No agreement means no funding from the WRU. The previous agreement expired at the end of last month.

Re: the Champions Cup

To be fair to Baggy, Moffet only seems to be gaining support in the grassroots game. And to be fair to Moffet, the grassroots game does needs sorting out as well. Can't see him solving the regions problems to be honest. I have attended two of Moffetts 'roadshows', one at Bonymaen RFC (grassroots) a...

Re: the Champions Cup

Out of interest, does anyone know how much the 7s tournament is worth to clubs? The crowds are generally pretty poor (for Tigers levels) so income must come from the sponsors more than anything. I don't know but some more info re. the tournament. http://www.premiershiprugby.com/mobile/news/31782.ph...

Re: the Champions Cup

The Welsh? In truth I have more or less lost interest in them, for now at least, they are terribly limited in their comprehension of most things sadly, you can only listen to so much in any given season of their nonsense. Underneath it all, I quite like them but they have been naughty naughty boys ...

Re: the Champions Cup

..... However the WRU is such a splenetic organisation I can't see an amicable relationship without at least one head rolling......thye should elect Rob Davies as Welsh Rugby supremo! Luckily, a guy (David Moffett) is about to call an EGM for a vote of no-confidence in the WRU, and then seek electi...

We await the fat lady singing. And a Welsh participation agreement..... :smt026 We're just helping you out, Bill. :smt045 The decision of the Welsh regions not to renew the Participation Agreement with the WRU at the turn of year was crucial.......says Mark McCafferty. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/...

The PRO 12 are in dissarray. As my French friends say plus ca change plus c'est la meme chose ! What disarray exactly? You don't half talk nonsense the occasional time it's intelligible. That's the European bit. Now for fratricide in Welsh rugby. :smt009 Just to put you in the picture, a little something from David Moffett, former CEO of the WRU ....
