Re: Artificial pitches
I play 5-a-side football on a rubber crumb artificial pitch (proper little blades of plastic grass with tiny bits of rubber to provide grip and act like mud) and it's :censored: ace stuff. I guess this is the sort they are talking about? Not sure how I would feel about dropping down on it playing ru...

Re: The Demise of the English prem?
Isn't this the first year in about 6 there wasn't an English team in the semi finals?
And this is the firs year where the Challenge Cup has featured few better teams later in the competition (HC Rejects).
Just the way things go, rub of the green, nature of knockout competition...

Re: Dalalglio gives view on England captaincy
A fair few players that Johnson has relied upon so far (Wilkinson, Borthwick, Moody) are people he knew from his playing days. Even Steve Thompson coming out of retirement was part of Johnson's squad when he was captain.

Re: Dalalglio gives view on England captaincy
I agree with Mr Dallaglio. Maybe not on this upcoming tour, but certainly soon and certainly long term. For me Rees is probably the best prospect as a true "fetching" number 7 that we have in this country. If fit and on form, I would pick him every time. Whenever I have seen him he has sho...

Re: Tigers attacking rugby
Last season and this, most teams have started by playing conservative rugby. In both seasons teams have then opened up as the season has progressed. Last season Tigers had to start chasing points because we got in to trouble (the away game at Wasps was the turning point) and had to. The same this se...

Re: Tigers Fans are being short-changed
Player names don't really matter. We are the current Guiness Premiership Champions and sitting at the top of the playoff places looking good to at least defend our title at Twickenham. Europe may have been a disappointment this year, but there is no real shame not getting out of the pool we were in....

Re: Delay in Geordan Murphy's re-signing for us ?
Everything we have heard thus far is just that there are some i's to dot and t's to cross. Although there must be a fair few its in the contracts given how long it is taking. Could just be that he has signed and they are holding out for a slow news day? Seem to remember Austin Healey of all people d...

Re: Will 7 be a worry?
I would be more than happy to have a fit Ben Woods as the club's first choice openside. Waldrom also seems highly capable. I was still half asleep when I watched the game, but didn't they (the Crusaders) chose to play Richie Macaw at lock so that Waldrom could play at 7? That must be a pretty decent...

Re: Who do we LEAST want to win HC?
I'll whisper this first bit, but I would quite like the Saints to go far in the competition and possibly even win it. On the other hand though, i would really not like our bestest local rivals to be able to say they have won it as many times as we have. Likewise with Leinster. Nothing against them, ...

Re: East Midlands Trains Are Taking The Proverbial
Are there any options for the East Coast line? Living in Nottingham it is often cheaper and faster to go from Kings Cross to Grantham and then on a local train to Nottingham?
I don't know if this is viable for Leicester though?

Re: Shut up! You're giving me earache!
I remember a Welsh referee several years ago (cannot remember his name) saying to a prop who had been giving it some all match to, "oh, give it a rest, you're worse than my mother-in-law"...

Re: Thanks for the memories Vesty!
The revolving door started with Lote, then Brett, Lewis, Mefin Lote signed a short term contract. Played it out, moved back home. Can't considered in any "everyone is leaving us" thoughts. Brett, quite frankly, has only ever been a squad player. So... Lewis is a loss, but post thirty and ...

Re: Professionalism and kit
This question crops up every once in a while. Whilst Nike and Adidas would provide good kit and merchandising etc, they will only offer set patterns. We would end up with a far less original and unique shirt.
