Re: Elitism in Rugby

elite noun 1. a select group that is superior in terms of ability or qualities to the rest of a group or society You might be happy with your surgery carried out by somebody dragged off the street at random but if I was to need a surgeon, I would like to have an elite one. The same goes for pretty ...

Re: Elitism in Rugby

Whilst we are discussing rugby here there is a general issue as noted in the OP. We don't want an elitist society. It's unhealthy. elite noun 1. a select group that is superior in terms of ability or qualities to the rest of a group or society You might be happy with your surgery carried out by som...

Re: Elitism in Rugby

How we solve is difficult because you have to break the elite's hold which is by definition very strong.

Need a centrist statesperson who is astute and patient.

Re: Leicester Tigers up for sale for £60 Million

Will the money buy better training facilities? when we allegedly have the best in the league already! I'm not sure where you read we have the best in the league already? And certainly there were plans to move which didn't come off and then other opportunities/priorities killed the idea in the short...

Re: Leicester Tigers up for sale for £60 Million

Personally I think this fantastic news.... with the proviso I'm not sure if I trust the board to choose the right buyers!! But really, it's what we need. People have been saying on here for a while that things are not right off the pitch resulting in a lack of accountability. Also that in terms of c...

How does that explain Genge's experience?
Genge slipped through the net, as exceptional talent does sometimes.

The system feeds the system in England.

Re: Guinness threat to London Irish

I think the discussion has been had. You pays your money and makes your choice.

Two sponsors have clearly made their choice.

Guinness withdrawing is quite significant because of the history.

But if Jackson performs on the field and Irish are competitive I'm sure the club will get over it.

Re: Not a happy place like the Ricoh!

Or is it a case lower division football club can't afford to rent the use of major stadium and the owners of that stadium deciding that the money on offer doesn't justify sharing? Wasps shouldn’t be there anyway. They should still be in the London area. I’ll never change my mind on that. Have you e...

Re: Boring Sarries, boring Exeter

Yeah, it was terrible wasn't it. Had trouble staying awake.

And the play offs are such a terrible idea. The League winners should get the Trophy.

Not!

Great game. Great final. Well done Sarries. Jealousy will get you nowhere.

Boring Sarries, boring Exeter

When it was said to Alex Sanderson that Sarries spend a lot of time at St Albans practising the kick chase Sanderson said "yes, to be honest the players get bored with it" or something very similar. So there you go, Sarries are even boring themselves. I jest. And Boyd says of after being gubbed by C...

Re: Weekend match thread - 24-26th May

Looking forward to Sarries versus Gloucester tomorrow. I think it will be the more competitive of the two semi's. I really hope so, but I can see home wins by 20 points in each match To be honest I am not fussed if Saracens win, I just think it's got potential to be a good game. I can't see how Sai...

Sorry to be so negative...

Not sure what this video offers up to be honest.

I got bored, skipped a few bits and then just killed it altogether.
