Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby

Worth noting a similarity in the regionality of rugby in France and the make of the clubs in the League. I posted this in 2021: Yes, La Rochelle is clearly the Top 14 team with the lowest number of actual local players - although they are home to one Elissalde family, so it's not like no rugbyman wa...

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby

What you would call negativity is what I would call realism. I just feel you get in a negative mental spiral with this stuff. Anyhow, a rabbit hole which we should probably stop going down. There are plenty of unalterable reasons why Prem rugby is not as commercially successful as the French pro le...

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby

As I say too much negativity, it can't be done, it is inevitable, most people don't want to watch/understand rugby type attitude. Mistakes have been made in the past - let's learn from them. It's important to understand the strength of other clubs is important to us as our health is to them. Being v...

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby

All of this has been discussed before.

There is too much negativity IMO. The Prem is great to watch and there are some great stadiums and clubs in it. We just need to build it out a bit and make better use of what is there.

We just have to look over the channel to see what we have to do.

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby

But again we are back to putting some money and effort into making the Championship a better competition so that the gap in terms of facilities and standards is not so great.

Re: 2024 Six Nations Chat

Isn't one of the more interesting things in life the contrasts and the unexpected.

If you've been out in the sticks for a few days going to the City can be very exhilarating and vice versa.

So it as when you have a bit of kick tennis and then suddenly one team runs it out from the back.

Just glad we managed to squeeze out a win. Maybe we can come good on the home straight after a few weeks rnr.

I always like Mike Brown but now he's in a Tigers shirt I'm loving it. Even better than the Ashton gig.

I believe so although I don't know the context of the quote so wouldn't like to past judgement.

Re: Kicked metres

That's some interesting extra info Tiglon though I think I'm a bit too thick to get what it all means. Doesn't help that I haven't watched the game I guess. Kicking is important, that is for sure. But I always thought it was more nuanced than pure metres. Area of the pitch, when to and when not to, ...

Kicked metres

Crucially, we only kicked 662 metres, whereas Leinster managed 1162m.

From the match thread. Thought it was worth a separate discussion.

What does this stat tell us - if anything?

Will be a great challenge with little pressure as we are expected to lose.

We have to start well.
