Re: Heineken Cup no nearer a resolution

We await a statement from the LNR. If they bail then the PRL will be cooked. If they stay with the Champions Cup they will be in showdown with their union. We are perhaps at the beginning of the end.

Re: Heineken Cup no nearer a resolution

If the French clubs bail on the PRL then the English guys will be seriously pee'd of I would imagine. The French chief (can't remember his name) was so adamant. Can they really be bailing out? If they do, then I would imagine relations between the two organisations is going to go through the floor. ...

Re: Heineken Cup no nearer a resolution

My reading of all this latest shenanigans is that it looks like the French clubs may flip back into line behind their union. If this happens, maybe even if not, I can see the Welsh regions doing the same. Unless the Champions Cup is much further down the road than it seems. With the unions and the I...

Re: Tigers Vs. Irish

Personally, aside from Cole, I don't see why you wouldn't put all the England boys back in. They must be chomping at the bit. I think there are one or two have stated a claim from the LV matches. Gibson for one.

Name calling

I'm fairly new here so I don't wish to upset any old guard but I've noticed a prevalance of name calling on the boards. Examples being Stains, Cashton and Fazlet but there are a few more. Perhaps I am having a sense of humour failure but it all seems rather childish to me. Isn't rugby is meant to be...

Re: Who do we go to if flood goes to France in the summer ?

Regarding those AI stats and the wider point. I remember reading an article a while back about how the game had become much more defence orientated. Possession isn't important. You basically let teams blow themselves out, and then hit them.

Re: Too much RL coaching in RU, says Jezza

I played a parents touch rugby tournament last spring. Very similar to RL. :censored: hell it was tedious. RL is marginally better because at least you can try and break the gameline, or force back on the tackle. But it is still in my eyes a very restricted form of union. Union, of course *can be* t...

Re: A view from the Soccer camp

Anyone who makes regular trips to the bar inside Twickenham must have deep pockets and a penchant for factory beer! I've only been to Prem finals and never had much of a prob. Some guy used foul language loudly at last years finals but got told off and duly apologised. I was bought on football and s...

What is the point if we fall out of the reckoning for trophies before Christmas?
Yeah, this happens every year in the Premiership doesn't it. :smt003

Re: Tigers vs Quins

Sounds like several folk on here want a law change to say that the people can not be passed such that it is caught in front of where it was passed from, regardless of momentum, etc. Currently there is a big subjective factor in decisions and that change to the law may help to eliminate that (though ...

Whist SCW's attention to detail is apt and to be be admired at the elite level I would say this is more of a 0.1%er than a 1%er.

Re: Tigers vs Quins

N&G has it correct, the ball can be passed backwards and still travel forwards. Just because the ball is caught in front of where the player released the pass does not automatically mean it was a forward pass. With all due respect there is an some crazy stuff being talked about on here. So far I...
