Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 7

6/7 and 8 still look weak areas, Taufua is class but will take time to adjust to whatever playing style Tigers choose for next season, we are missing a top notch 7, at centre I just hope the new signings are hits not misses, the lock situation looks better and the front row looks like one of the bes...

Re: New coaching structure?

Murphy needs a few seasons in the championship to build his CV, the Tigers job was far to big and to early for him, him as DOR would be ridiculous!!

Re: Quins vs Tigers

Just back from the game, ( a tad the worse for wear ). This was a bitter sweet occasion. It looked like it was all over, and no points, and I felt gutted. Then that so very important moment at the end. The defeat suddenly felt like a victory, and the pressure is now like a mountain to climb for New...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 6

Just watched a few videos of Lavanini, this lad is a penalty/yellow/red card machine, first video on You Tube, “Rugby’s biggest thugs”, no claim to fame that, some awful tackles and in the current rugby climate is going to be racking up some serious miles heading to his disciplinary hearings and pro...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 6

This is an honest open question - seeking wisdom from wiser minds. It is not inherently negative. I appreciate that Tigers have got to be wise in their recruitment. No team can have a dream team in all positions and stay within the salary cap- although Saracens are 'the exception that proves the ru...

Re: Tigers v Newcastle - 12th April 2019

Thompson a class act as he has been all season!! Defence and line play a shambles!! Ford and Toomua kicking game was 1st class!! Missed tackles awful as always. We have so many amazing players just missing leadership and a game plan! Murphy is not the answer as head coach!! Mike Ford??? Really don’t...

Re: Exeter team

Williams at 7 is a no for me, we need a genuine 7 at breakdowns as the Chiefs will have us on toast without proper disruption around the rucks, would start May and Thommo on the wings, Manu and Eastmond at Centre, Toomua on the bench for cover at centre and fly half with Holmes covering the wing, I ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part Deux

Spencer is a top lock and is still very young even tho he looks 40, certainly the sort of enforcer the tigers have needed, surprised to see Olowefela in the squad, Jones must see lots of potential in him, let’s hope he gets some game time at full back or on the wing next season. I think the signing ...

Re: Tom Hardwick - 1st Team

I don't applaud the Grayson mistake, it was lazy and sloppy. Taking the ball to the line and then panicking and throwing a missile at your inside centre because you don't want to take contact isn't great. Grayson looked rushed far too often at 10, when Hardwick stepped in to playmaker then England ...

Re: Tom Hardwick - 1st Team

I am more on the lines of the future of the tigers and the young players we have coming through, not expecting experts yet but these players need to be given 1st team exposure that will only advance there skills. Yes the England 20s did drop ball and make routine errors bur surely this is expected a...

Tom Hardwick - 1st Team

From watching Hardwick today in the Under 20s he looks physically in great shape and had a solid game at centre, I still like him at fly half, his distance kick from 50 metres was outstanding. Tigers need to start playing this younger crop of talent or we will see them start looking elsewhere. Hardw...

Re: Tour to SA

Surely BOC has to be in contention, England are crying out for a powerful 7 who can actually snipe turnovers.
