Well done, Wasps
Not a phrase I thought I’d ever utter - but good to see at least one club trying to drag the game into a more culturally sensitive place!

Re: Well done, Wasps
Absolutely no suspicion that the timing, just before they played them rather than, say, at the beginning of the season, is anything but entirely coincidental and altruistic.

Well, I guess it’s their home, so as good a time as any to say what behaviour you’d prefer from your guests.

No that's media hype essentially rerunning a story from as you say before the season....
See this article from the Coventry Telegraph dated back in August.

Re: Well done, Wasps
Maybe someone should have a word with Worcester about referring to our "African Tribesmen" in their poetic review of this weekends game? Some may find that offensive and racist.

I wonder what the North American 1st nations have to say on this matter? Have they ever been consulted?

Exactly ,nothing worse than people not effected by certain situations sticking their oars in and inserting themselves into said situations!

Not sure where the the offence comes from? We have South Africans in our ranks. Judging by their names, of Dutch extraction. A long time ago, and utterly irrelevant to anythinghappywomble wrote: ↑Tue Oct 12, 2021 10:16 pm Maybe someone should have a word with Worcester about referring to our "African Tribesmen" in their poetic review of this weekends game? Yes they have for example
https://rootsrugby.org/
Is an Indegenous rugby organisation based in the USA has made a VERY clear point here on this tweet where they clearly back the banning of headdresses.

Re: Well done, Wasps
If Exeter want to keep their American Chiefs mascot, rather than use the name in the original use as chiefs =1st team, x = second team then they could reach out to this team and support them, fly over and do training sessions etc?
Tigers second team were the swift’s weren’t they? Trying to remember the strip on the back page of the Leicester Mercury late sports news I delivered on my paper round along time ago!

Re: Well done, Wasps
I fail to understand how homogenising an entire ethnic group, one that had a multitude of languages and cultures, into a specific racial stereotype after they have be subject to appalling acts of genocide, is in any way acceptable. As a second point what has it got to do with ‘manliness’ - how are you more ‘masculine’ by not standing up for cultural appropriation? What has that got to do with gender?
There is much more to be done about inclusion in the game but ask yourself this- would we allow ourselves to be called the Leicester Tribesman and have fans turning up beating drums- in fancy dress as well?
Don’t call it pathetic and read some history before you cast opinions such as this.
